Lets Tackle Blood Shortages: NFL Ticket Giveaway
Erie, PA – With football season officially underway, the Community Blood Bank is calling all sports fans to help tackle blood shortages in our community! Throughout September, all donors will be entered to win a pair of tickets to a regular season NFL game of their choice. This exciting giveaway aims to rally community support and bolster the blood supply as we move into a new season.
While summer often brings a dip in blood donations, the transition into fall can also present challenges. Busy school schedules, holiday preparations, and the return of various activities can sometimes overshadow the urgent and constant need for blood.
"Just as teams rely on every player to make a winning effort, our hospitals rely on every donor to ensure a stable blood supply," said Community Blood Bank’s Emilee Hawse, WNY Mobile Drive Coordinator. September marks the start of football season, a time when many are focused on supporting their favorite team. We want to harness that excitement to remind everyone that giving blood is one of the most impactful ways to support our community. It truly is a game-changer for patients in need."
All blood types are needed. Donating blood is a safe and simple process, typically taking less than an hour from registration to recovery. Donors are encouraged to hydrate well before their appointment and bring a valid ID.

Walk-ins will be taken as space allows.

Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest P¬ennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. If you are at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and are in good general health, you may be eligible to donate blood. You must have a valid photo ID to donate.
